Of all the monuments on the National Mall, this one was by far my favorite. The monument is off on its own from most of the other sites on the mall and yet I felt it very fitting. It was a very peaceful spot of the tidal basin. I especially like the quotes on the wall inside the monument. It was a very fitting monument to a flawed man who had strives for something better then himself.

A beautiful memorial nestled next to the Basin. Expect a lot of walking, but clear and easy paths to navigate (wheelchair friendly). The Rotunda is impressive in scale, and the place inspires a sense of awe and respect. Enjoy the cool breezes and stunning views.

Emozionante solenne imperdibile. Consiglio anche una visita notturna quando è deserto e l' atmosfera è surreale. Il periodo da fine marzo è il migliore per visitare Washington con la fioritura e le temperature che cominciano a salire.

One of our five greatest Presidents and a champion of streamlined, small, federalist central government; political genius, lover of freedom and individual rights vs. community rights, lover of people, inventor; the memorial is an architectural marvel made of millions of pounds of marble, has four entries, beautiful light, constant breezes, great views of the Tidal Basin; easy walks to other monuments, The Mall, and Metro stations; good selection of books on Jefferson in the store - try "The Art of Power"; interesting museum in the lower level.
