Don't let these reviews scare you. It is a very good deal and sometimes you give a little to get a better price. My girlfriend and I had a wonderful experience and will always remember this as our first vacation together. Food is not drop dead amazing but we went in expecting that, and we ate good every single night and the omelet lady was amazing . The drinks at the pool bar started off very weak but as our vacation went on we befriended the bartender named Rafa, who was extremely pleasant and one of the reasons we enjoyed the trip so much. After our second day weak drinks was no longer a problem. Rooms are a slightly dated but the friendliness of ALL the staff makes up for that, which is all I could possibly ask for. For us it was the service they provided rather than the amenities of the resort, where they fall behind in one they make up in the other. It's exactly what you can expect at a 3-star hotel but with the 5-star service. We will return here. Below is our view from the balcony.

DO NOT STAY HERE. Probably the most upsetting was that we stayed 5 nights and only one of those nights did they have entertainment (carnival night) we were not told about this event and once we saw it and wanted to attend we were turned away for not having made reservations. No one even informed us it was happening in the first place. Also the food here is TERRIBLE, If you want to eat at one of their restaurants AS ADVERTISED (that isn't the buffet) you have to reserve at 9am, no one told us this so upon arrival either. All of these restaurants are inside of the resort which is supposed to be all inclusive but they turned us away because we had no reservation. Need transport to the airport as they advertise? You're on your own unless you reserve 3 days in advance which again isn't something they tell you. Last but not least, the ocean water here is NOT as advertised, not clear at all and you may not go into the ocean anyways???? Security will stop you. I thought I paid for a beach resort.

Beds are hard but I always feel well rested after sleeping on them. Staff are nice. Bartenders occasionally "forget" ingredients from cocktails but are friendly and generous. The water bar in the pool serves fairly weak drinks but it keeps pool goers from getting too drunk and most of the other bars don't skimp too much on alcohol. Some of the rooms and halls have a little bit of a strange smell. The non-Mexican food here could be more authentic and more professionally prepared but it's still plenty extravegent, exciting and delicious for me. Considering what I paid, I've been very satisfied with Royal Solaris

Hotel was fine, we had an excellent vacation. But they need better A.C. and more maintenance staff, I don't see how they think it's ok to have 1 poor man working that huge hotel by himself, especially in the summer when everyone is having problems with the A.C. Other than the room feeling damp the entire time, the hotel was clean, had very nice staff, and good food options. Wish the pool stayed open past 8 pm. And I'm not sure if it was the season but they recommended we stay away from the beach because it was dangerous.

This review is 4 days into a 7 day visit and is only for the resort. First off don't get suckered into time shares at the airport. Wait for the resort to throw their pitch first. Secondly the beds are like sleeping on stone slabs. Third the foods is like golden Corral some of its good but most of its bad. Get your reservations by 9 o'clock for the restaurants. Last the service here is great. The staff is extremely friendly and will help you any way they can.
