When in the Loop you should make time to stop at the Chicago Fed Money Museum off the lobby of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago! This museum is great for all ages with lots of activities and learning opportunities and so much history its worth the visit. Be sure to have a valid government issued ID for gaining access to the museum. There's airport type security to get into the museum as well. You have a chance to see different types of current and old currency. You can have your photo take with $1,000,000.00 in a briefcase as well while in the museum. It's always a fun trip to take to check this museum out.

The Money Museum in the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago is a small museum that won’t keep you all day, but is worth a tour if you’re a fan of cold, hard cash. They lead daily tours at 1 pm, or you can check out the various exhibits on your own. One of the best features is an exhibit showing you how to tell a real bill from a counterfeit. The best part? You’ll leave with a free bag of shredded cash to do with as you please.

One of the seemingly-unknown museums in Chicago. There is a lot to learn about money here. A highlight is getting a picture with a suitcase loaded with $1 million dollars in addition to the cube filled with another $1 million dollars. The museum is quite small but full of information, great for a middle school or high school trip.

Great free museum with an interesting video and plenty of really fun exhibits. Grab a few bags of shredded currency on the way out for free. Spoiler: the million dollar case...not filled with real cash. Sorry. :)

Very interesting museum to learn about the money history in the US, the best of all it is free.
