If you are going to Tokyo and don't speak Japanese ask your hotel concierge to book this experience. We had 15 course sushi servings and great conversation with Jiro son. After you can order more of your favorites. The uni, saltwater eel and mackerel are amazing. There was only 4 people total for lunch here and contrary to what the other reviews say, Jiro was extreme friendly, answered all questions and speaks great English. Yes that is a picture of Jiro doing the TX longhorn sign with us. He knows the Longhorns.

This was an experience of a lifetime. The sushi was hands-down the best I've ever had in my life. I typically don't like tobiko but his was fantastic. I read reviews of the staff becoming indignant if you don't eat something, so I upfront informed them of my shrimp allergy. They easily and happily accommodated me, even swapping out the tamago for something else because it contained small bits of shrimp. The owner, Ono-san, explained all the pieces to us as he prepared them by hand in front of us. He was stern, but polite, at first but eventually became very friendly and conversational. The meal ended up being quite expensive(which we expected) at over 47,000 yen, but it was definitely worth it!

Great sushi bar, very expensive but worth the price of admission. Flavours are a lot more delicate than the typical mass-market sushi places that blast my palate with wasabi, soya sauce and mayonnaise. Fortunately, it was sensitive enough to appreciate the quality of the uni, otoro, and bonito. Expect military-precision and speed in the execution of service and food. Allocate more time to savour the sushi instead of getting the right angle on your photos. Read their website and watch the videos on youtube to educate yourself on what can be expected. Express all dietary restrictions to the chef before the meal commences.

Amazing sushi experience that I won't forget for a long time. We came for the lunch service and the Saltwater eel was to die for! Anyone who comes here and wants to question the amount of meal prep, design or inspiration for this work of art is just a fool. Come here with an open mind and let the master sushi chef take your tastebuds on a journey you soon won't forget. The staff was also super friendly and didn't come off as arrogant whatsoever as some others have said...anyone who believes that probably insulted the chef by trying to alter the meal or by not listening to why they serve the course the way they do. Highly recommended if able to pay the price of admission.

Never experienced something like this before... Watching the documentary beforehand would be great.
