Old facilities, but still an important mode of transfer to the Island. If driving, its faster to use the Penang Bridge, minus the jams of course, at times. As a pedestrian, or sightseer, I do enjoy the sea breeze. Kids also are happy to see ferries or ships plying to & fro.

An old way to get to Penang Island. A classic and very nice experience. Its take about 15 to 30 minutes to get to the next terminal. The cost for a bigger car like MPV was RM7.70.

Good service of ferry system. At cheap cost you can be at George Town, Penang. You will enjoy the experience.

Under new management, the pedestrian walkway to the Butterworth train station is temporarily closed. Free Rapid Pg shuttle buses are available for pedestrian passengers coming from the ferry terminal to the train station. Caught the 12:10 ferry to Butterworth and reached the train station around 1pm. The 20 min ferry ride was enjoyable & relaxing.
